A full range of attractive bachelor and master degree courses
The university’s comprehensive offering includes 8 faculties and some 160 institutes that date back to the XVIth century. With 13,000 students, it is of mid-range size among Swiss universities. Unlike the bigger institutions, it retains a human dimension and a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Research – Complete networking
Its academic and research organisation prides itself on its interdisciplinarity, exemplified by its three National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCR): Climate, North-South and International Trade Regulation. The University is actively involved in a wide range of European and worldwide research projects, notably in the field of Space Research.
Continuing Education
Studying today does not stop at a university degree: in Bern, a university education continues into the faculties, the institutes and the Centre for University Continuing Education. Opportunities include some 25 training courses in the work place leading to three types of degree: Master of Advanced Studies, Diploma or Certifi cate of Further Education. Also, many individual courses fall within the scope of the Bologna process. The Master in International Law and Economics (M.I.L.E.) and the Rochester-Bern Executive MBA are two programs that are available exclusively at the University of Bern. | | Alternate language description | | Not Available | | Areas of study | | Political Science, Communication Studies, Law, Economics, Pharmacology, Philology and Linguistics, Medicine, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Humanities, Music, Marketing, Literature, Art History, Theatre, Performing Arts, Archeology, Dentistry, Philosophy, Management, Criminology, Forensic Science, French Language and Literature, German language and literature, Italian Language and Literature, Spanish Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Biochemistry, Cultural Studies, Molecular Sciences, Social Sciences, International Law, Dermatology, Business Management, Art Studies, Economic Law, Information Technology Systems, Human Resources Management, Leisure & Tourism Management, Financial Management, Anatomy, Orthopaedics, Islamic History and Culture, Middle Eastern Studies, Sports Science, Tax Law, Clinical Pharmacology, Catholic Theology, Protestant Theology | | Language of instruction | Type of School | | German | Public University | | Type of studies | Accreditation | | University Degree Program, Graduate, Professional Programs, Master Erasmus Mundus |
