Andorra is a small country located in the Pyrenees between Spain and France.
During seven centuries, from 1278 on, it was a co-principality ruled by the authorities of the neighboring countries.
Since 1993 the Principality of Andorra is an independent, constitutional, democratic and social state, when the people of Andorra took over full sovereignty.
It is a mountainous and for long impoverished country. However today it has a prosperous economy mostly due to its tourism industry.
Andorra's tourism is based on leisure activities such as shopping, skiing and other outdoor activities.
