Religious beliefs in American Samoa

Little is known about the religious practices of the original Samoan. During the 19th century, missionaries descended on the islands and there was a spate of conversions. Driven by practicality as any much as anything else, large numbers of people converted to Christianity. Today, 98% of the people in American Samoa follow Christianity.
