The best health clinics of Azerbaijan are in Baku. The quality of these clinics is good, but may not be so with those outside of the capital.
There have been cases of avian flue among humans. If you are planning to travel to the country, try to avoid contact with live animals. If you eat chicken or eggs, make sure they are well cooked.
Safety
Even though there has been a cease-fire since 1994 in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, attacks along the border with Armenia continue to be reported.
Mines are also another danger in areas along the borders. It is recommended that people traveling to Azerbaijan to avoid Nagorno-Karabakh and its surroundings.
The level of crime in Azerbaijan is low, however attacks on tourists and street crime may occur. It is not recommended to walk alone at night.
