Azerbaijan is a small country located between the line that separates Europe and Asia.
To the North of Azerbaijan is Russia, to the west the Caspian Sea, to the north Armenia and Georgia, and to the south Iran.
Half of the area of the country is made of mountains. The Caucasus mountain range is predominant.
The other half of the country is formed of flat arid ground most of which is desert-like, however thanks to irrigation is usefully for farming.
The capital of Azerbaijan is Baku, which is also the largest city in the country.
The people of Azerbaijan are called Azeri.
