Study, Work or Volunteer in Brazil
The fourth most populous democracy in the world sprawls across half of South America and beckons visitors from all over the globe with promises of sun, salsa and the good life. But there’s more to Brazil than being the party capital of the world. Rich flora and fauna, natural and mineral resources, football champions and a highly effective AIDS programme are also some of the things that go into making this unique country what it is.
Brazil is the world's 10th largest economy in terms of purchasing power and the 10th largest economy at market exchange rates. Mature manufacturing, mining and agriculture contribute to its development while technology and services also play an important role. Social problems continue to hamper progress, however.
The capital of Brazil is Brasilia. A meticulously planned and beautiful city, vibrant and multicultural city, it is the seat of the federal government: the president, the Brazilian supreme court, and the Brazilian parliament.
