Study, Work, Volunteer and Travel in Switzerland

Switzerland or the Swiss Federation, as it is officially called, needs no introduction. One of the world’s foremost travel destinations, Switzerland has more to offer than pristine Alpine beauty. Its breath-taking landscape is made more vibrant by its multi-cultural flavour and an abundance of the good things in life—cheese, wine, chocolate and ski resorts.

Although Switzerland has strong ties with neighbouring countries in Europe, it became an official member of the UN only in 2002. While Switzerland is active in many UN and international organizations, it retains a strong commitment to neutrality.

The capital of Switzerland is Berne, a medieval city founded in 1191 on and around the River Aare. Berne is a lively city with an active cultural life. In 1983 the UNESCO inscribed Berne as a World Heritage Site.
