Getting Visas to Cuba


In order to enter the country of Cuba, you will need a visa and a passport that must be valid for until six months upon entry. Apply for tourist visa-card if you are entering the country as a tourist. It is only valid for leisure and recreational purposes. The tourist card is valid for one entry within 180 days upon issuance and for a 30-day stay in Cuba. You can extend the trip for 30 days more. Travel agencies in your countries may offer service to obtain tourist visa and saves you the trouble on going to the Cuban embassy and not sure of success. You can also get a visa upon arriving in the airport of Cuba but the charge of the price will be approximately doubled. So be sure that you secure the visa before going on a trip to Cuba.

A business visa is needed if you will be engage in some business transactions in Cuba. If you enter in the country with a tourist visa and engaged in a business transaction, you will be violating the Cuban Immigration regulations. There are 2 types of business visa in Cuba. One is the business visa to find business possibilities in the country and the other one is the business visa to establish a business operation or have a transaction in Cuba. A letter of invitation is needed from a Cuban Company or institution upon engaging a business operation or transaction. A visa to explore does not require a letter of invitation but it requires a provision of information to the Cuban Consulate on the purpose of the trip. Both visas are issued for a maximum of 30 days stay in Cuba.
