Visa application requirements for Cape Verde

For tourist and business visa applicants, passport must be valid for at least six months. The prospective traveler should also submit a filled up and signed application form, a passport size photo, either a copy of a roundtrip airline ticket or itinerary or letter of confirmation from the travel agent. For business visas, a written letter authorization or responsibility from the company will be required. The letter must state the nature of business to be conducted, name and address of contact or client to be visited, guarantee of adequate funds that will be use during the visit and return home. It must also be assigned by a company official other than the applicant. For other purposes like employment or study, additional requirements might be asked.

Either the business or tourist visa is normally valid for multiple entries within a 5-year period. However, in order for this to apply one must have entered the country within three months from the date of issue. Upon arrival, the immigration officer will determine the length of stay in the islands. Other documents like an international yellow fever vaccination certificate will be required if applicant comes from an area infected with such disease.

With regards to the processing fee, the travel agency or company usually takes care of the details, but if you are applying directly to the embassy or consulate, the fee could either be paid directly in cash or by money order.
