Modes of transport in the country are by air, sea and motorway. There’s no running railway system in Cyprus. Bus services in the country are cheap and economical. Types of bus service that are available in Cyprus are interurban and rural buses. The interurban buses connect to the major cities while the rural buses link to the smaller villages. Taxis are also available in the country.

The country has 2 international airports and 6 heliports in 1999. Larnaca International Airport is the main airport in the country. Paphos International Airport manages domestic and international flights and has 1 terminal. Other airports in the country include Episkopi, Ercan and Gecitkale airport.

The major ports of the island are Larnaca and Limassol port, which service passenger, cargo and cruise ships. The larger port is the Limassol, which controls a sizeable volume of cruise vessels and cargo. Larnaca is mainly a cargo port. Other harbor and ports include Paphos and Vasilikos.

One of the most significant ways of communication in the country is telephone. In 2002, there are around 427,400 telephone main lines in use in Republic of Cyprus and 86,228 in north Cyprus. There are about 417,900 mobile users in Republic of Cyprus and 143,178 in north Cyprus. There more than 200,000 Internet users. In 1997, television users in Republic of Cyprus are around 248,000. Radio users are almost 310,000 in Republic of Cyprus.
