The Government in Germany
Germany is governed by the Basic Law promulgated the 23 of May of 1949 in the old West Germany. It defines the country as a federal democratic state with its basis on social justice.
Between 1968 and 1989 East Germany was governed by a constitution that define the country as a sovereign socialist state.
After the unification of the two Germanys, the Basic Law became constitution of the united German people on the 3rd of October of 1990.
