Germany is located in central Europe. Long ago it was an area occupied by several states.
For 74 years, between 1871 and 1945, it was a unified country, but after the World War II it came divided in two, the western Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the eastern German Democratic Republic (GDR). In 1990 it became a united country again. The capital of Germany is Berlin.
Germany is a country of beautiful landscapes. Two seas are in the north the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. It has numerous natural parks, mountains, valleys and lakes.
