Sites in Algeria

Algiers is a city dating back to Phoenician and Roman times.

In the city of Algiers there are several museums to see: The Museum of Art and Popular Traditions, Bardo National Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography, the National Museum of Fine Arts of Algiers, the National Museum of Antiquities and Islamic Art.

Other popular tourist attractions are the Casbah and Court of the Great Mosque in Algiers.

The Casbah Quarter is the historic center of the city with its narrow streets and roman style houses of high walls and indoor patios.

The Martyrs Square is north of the maritime promenade and it serves as a terminal for the city buses.

Hammam Sidna is the oldest bath in the city and it is currently used.

The main post office is in the center of the city decorated by arches and mosaics.

Ben M´Hidi Larbi Street has the most stores in Algiers.
