Fiji is a tropical paradise and a travel destination by itself. Located in Oceania in the South Pacific Ocean, it boasts of white sandy beaches, pristine waterways and swaying coconut trees in more than 200 volcanic islands. The largest of these islands is Viti Levus where the capital city Suva is located and prides itself as having the largest concentration of coastal resorts. You can also find inside the capital the Fiji Museum that houses a collection of artifacts from the country’s first settlers 3,500 years ago; the Orchid Island and Fijian Cultural Center that showcase flora and fauna, crafts, and feature the Bure Kalou, a 50-foot high pagan temple at the entrance to the Orchid Island; and the Suva Municipal Market, which is the largest in the South Pacific, offering an insight into the Fijian day-to-day urban life.

In Traveuni Island, the country’s 3rd largest, near Vannua Levu, the second largest island, which is the exclusive habitat of the so-called Tagimoncia Flower. You can find in Lautoka, Nadi the largest sugar mill in the Southern Hemisphere, mosques, a market place, the Hare Krishna Temple, as well as old colonial structures, and in Koroyanitu National Park, also in Nadi, camping and biking sites through the local villages, where you will be afforded a chance to meet friendly village people.

Definitely, you would not want to miss the “Adventure Capital of Fiji” which is the Pacific Harbor that boasts of the country’s fine hotels and restaurants, and an Art Village where local artisans conduct demonstrations on pottery making.
