Hungary was admitted to Nato in 1999 and has been a member state of the European Union since May 1, 2004. It is also a member of the OECD.
The capital of Hungary is Budapest, a lively and charming city that is the center of the Magyar Republic as Hungary is called. It has many cultural and sporting festivals and is a stone’s throw away from other, more rural pleasures.
