Hungarian is the official language of Hungary, and thus an official language of the European Union.
Hungarian or magyar is a Finno-Ugric language unrelated to most other languages in Europe. It is spoken in Hungary and by the Hungarian minorities in seven neighbouring countries. There are about 13 million native speakers, of whom 9.5-10 million live in modern-day Hungary.
Hungarian is an agglutinative language, using several different affixes, including suffixes, prefixes and a circumfix to define the meaning or the grammatical function.
