Getting Visas to Indonesia

Visa on Arrival

This is issued to some nationalities and can be immediately applied after landing at certain seaports and airports in Indonesia. It cannot be changed or renewed to get an immigration permit. The maximum allowable period of stay is 30 days. Please check the complete list of countries at your nearest Indonesian embassy.

Free Short Visa

Free Short Visits are issued to extend the stay due to a natural tragedy, illness or accident and through the endorsement from the Minister of Justice of Indonesia, but cannot be shifted to a different type of visa. The penalty for overstaying visitors is US$20/per day for less than 60-day stay and 5 years prison verdict or a fine in local currency of IDF25.000.000 for over 60-day stay.

Study/Training Visa

For study or training purposes, the requirements are registration letter from the school in Indonesia confirming the period and nature of the course, training and proof that all the required fees or bills have been paid in advance. Confirmation letter from the sponsor is needed if the applicant is on a scholarship.

Transit Visa

The transit visa is required by all states. This is given to people who continue their trip to another country granted they have a validated tickets / documents to go to their next destination. Visa is valid until 3 months from the date of issue and utmost duration of stay is 7 days from arrival date in the country. Visa is issued within 5-6 working days from receipt of request or application.

The rates for the following visa are £15.00 (transit visa); £ 35.00 (Tourist Visa-up to 60 days); £ 35.00 (Business Visa -up to 60 days); £ 35.00 (Social/Cultural Visa-up to 60 days); and £ 125.00 (Multiple Entries Visa-up to 12 months)
