The Climate in Ireland

Largely due to the Atlantic Ocean, Ireland's climate is moderate and does not suffer from the extremes of temperature experienced by many other countries at similar latitude. The average annual temperature is about 9 °C and temperatures get more extreme as one travels inwards. There are strong winds in winter and average rainfall varies between about 800 and 2,800mm.
