The Climate in India

Climate in India varies greatly because it stretches from the Himalayas in the north to the Thar desert in the west and wet, cool highlands of Assam in the east to searing hot beaches in the South. India has three seasons: summer, winter and monsoons. The heat starts to build up on the northern plains around February and by April, it is 35-45°C (95-113°F) in most places. Monsoons are mainly between June and September and there can be fierce storms sometimes. India's northern cities become chilly at night in December. In the far south, the temperatures get pleasant rather than cold.
