Interesting locations in Jamaica


Jamaica has more than 50 public beaches scattered all over the island. The most famous beach is Seven Mile settled in Westmoreland, Negril. The beach has pure white sand and impressive views. The most remarkable beach in Jamaica is the Doctor's Cave Beach in Montego Bay. In 1880, Dr. Alexander James McCatty had established a sanatorium in Montego Bay. He permitted his friends together with some doctors to wash at his small beach which was going through a cave. He provided the property to the area and the private members club was created in 1906.

Other beaches in Jamaica are Boston Beach (settled in nine miles east of the city of Port Antonio), Font Hill Beach (situated in Saint Elizabeth), Ocean View Beach (settled in Runaway Bay in Saint Ann Parish), Treasure Beach (South coast of the country in the parish of St Elizabeth), Whitehouse Beach (located in Westmoreland Parish), Winifred Beach (located in Port Antonio).

Some noted park in the country are National Heroes (located in Kingston, it brings out several monuments, and burial place for the country’s national heroes, prime ministers and national leaders); Holywell (one of the out sight natural gems of the country and ideal for those fascinated in eco-tourist attractions); Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park (situated in the eastern end of the island of Jamaica and it composed of 3 varieties of mountain the Blue, John Crow and Port Royal).
