When it comes to providing health services to its people, Jordan has very good standing. It ranked 7 among the 22 region of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as the rankings were based on life expectancy, good doctor density, and hospital quality. The negative points earned by Jordan can be attributed to its diet and lifestyles and both malnutrition and overweight top the country's health serious problems. Though it gets high standing in good doctor density, the child mortality rate of the country reached fairly high results with 22 per 1000 cases.

Public and private health institutions in Jordan deliver quality services. The public sector which is composed of government and military offers 64% of beds. Though services are not free, expenses are covered by medical insurance. In Middle East, Jordan have the most sophisticated facilities in giving treatment. More hospitals provide specialized treatment and for the record, the only dedicated center for cancer treatment is located in Amman. Even foreign patients from other Middle Eastern countries benefit from Jordan's medical facilities.

Local health services are provided for virtually all Jordanians and births are attended by their highly skilled health personnel. In terms of health conditions and diseases, Jordanians also suffered from malaria which was exterminated in 2001. Though two decades ago tuberculosis was the country's serious health problem, the case is different nowadays the number has dramatically reduced. Health services like child immunization are also strictly executed to bring children health benefits they need. Finally, Jordan's health services include supply of clean water and access to good sanitation.
