The most commonly applied visa for foreigners with seeking short stay in South Korea are the following:

Tourist/Temporary Visit

  • B-1 (Visa Exemption) – foreigners who can entry without visa which include those countries under visa waiver agreements, frequent visitors, Japanese tourists, those with special entry agreements for the Jeju Island, APEC Business Travel Card holders, and transit tourists bound for another country. Europe bound Chinese transit holders and re-entry permit holders.
  • B-2 (Travel/Transit) – passport and disembarkation card are required for this type of visa. Holders are allowed to stay in the country for 35 days.
  • C-3 (Temporary Visit) – foreigners who wish to seek medical treatment, visit a family or friend, attend conferences, a major sporting event, religious ceremony or occasions and other similar purposes may apply for this kind of visa. Passport and Disembarkation cards are the requirements. The holder is also given an extension of 35 days.

Business

  • C-2 (Temporary Business) – qualified applicants include those whose main purpose is to conduct market research, consultation, inspection/observation/repair/installation of machinery and equipment any other similar reasons. The holder is allowed to stay in South Africa for 35 days.

Education

  • C-3 (Temporary Visit) – issued to those seeking short learning, training session, educational research, and other similar purposes. The holder is required to present a passport together with a disembarkation card and allowed to stay in the country for 35 days.

Work

  • C-4 (Temporary Employment) – professionals with provisional employment such as advertisement, entertainment, fashion shows, technical training, and other related reasons can apply for this type of visa.
