Interesting locations in Lao People's Democratic Republic

The finest waterfalls that tourist might visit are Pa Suam (sited in Champassak and provides unique bungalows made in tree house), Nam Kat (situated in Oudomxay), Khone Phapeng (situated in Champassak and considered as the biggest waterfall in terms of volume in Southeast Asia), Tad Fane (located in Champassak), Tad Lo (located in Salavan Province and offers resorts and guesthouse), Tad Namsanam & Tad Mouang (sited within the Phou Hin Poun National Protected Area).

Some popular museums in the country are Lao National Museum (sited in Vientiane and in 2007 the United States help out to improve the museum), Champasak Provincial Museum (is a local museum located in Pakse and contain the documents regarding history of Champasak, photos of historical cultural incidents and display of musical instruments, different ethnic clothing, jewelry collections) and Royal Palace or "Haw Kham (created in 1904, located in Luang Prabang and the said palace was reformed to national museum).

Other interesting tourist spots are Wat Si Muang (a Buddhist temple located in Vientiane and the statue of King Sisayang Vong place in the front of the temple), Pak Ou Caves (the caves are well-known for their Buddha sculptures which is Lao style and collected over the centuries by the indigenous people), That Dam (a large stupa, which is sited in Vientiane and also recognized as the black stupa), Patuxai (located in the center of Vientiane, formerly the Anosavari Monument and built in early 1968) Wat Xieng Thong (a Buddhist temple located in Luang Phrabang), Buddha Park (is a sculpture park situated in Vientiane and also recognized as Xieng Khuan, it has more than 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues and 1 remarkable sculpture that looks like a giant pumpkin), and Tad Kwang Si (popular in Luang Prabang).
