The Climate in Monaco

The country of Monaco enjoys a mild, pleasant Mediterranean climate, averaging about 300 days of sunshine a year. Summer temperatures are usually in the 80-84ºF or 26-29ºC range, while winter, which is mild and wet, temperatures range between 48ºF and 58ºF or 8-14ºC. The months of July and August are the hottest months, while spring and autumn are perfect times to travel to Monaco as temperatures are at their mildest.

There’s a world of difference between visiting Monaco during high season (late spring, summer, early fall) and low. If you’re interested in the sights or spas- as opposed to lying on the beach- go during low season. There are no crowds, hotel rates can be as much as a third less in some properties, and it’s easy to get reservations in good restaurants. The only downside is that a few of the attractions may be closed, and the ones that are open have shorter hours, so you can’t see as much in a day (but you can afford to stay more days).
