Visa application requirements for Moldova

The country allows citizens of several countries to enter the territory without the need for a visa for at least 90 days. The exempted countries include CIS member countries, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, USA, as well as European member states, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Great Britain, Hungary, Holland, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Spain, Slovenia, Slovakia and Sweden. Diplomatic passport holders of Albania, Croatia, China, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Israel, Iran, Montenegro, Turkey, Serbia, Turkmenistan and Vietnam have no need for visas for at least 90 days during their 6 months stay.

United Nation Laissez-Passer passport holders do not require visa while passing thru the country. The government can issue exemptions for individuals and organizations coming to the country. For citizens of countries that are not exempted a valid visa is required.

The types of visa issued are determined by purpose which is diplomatic, service, simple, tourist and transit. Visa issued can be used for single, double or multiple entries. However, group visas are not allowed.

General visa requirements include passport or travel document that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the expiry date of the visa request, latest photo sized 35x45 mm, filled in and signed application form. For diplomatic and service visas, an official invitation letter issued by the appropriate government office or agency is required. For tourist visas, an invitation letter issued by the Bureau of Migration and Asylum in behalf of a Moldovan tourist agency is required.
