Getting Visas to Madagascar


Nationals of the following countries are required to obtain a visa and may settle up to 90 days: America, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa, United Kingdom.

The following are the requirements for tourist visa for U.S. citizens: visa application form, U.S. Passport with 6 months validity, passport size photograph, round trip tickets or confirmation letter from travel agent and cover page and credit card authorization forms. For business visa, the requirements for non-U.S citizens are same for tourist visa and in addition, a business letter with company letterhead indicating the purpose, duration of the visit, name and address of the company to be visited and a financial assurance from the company.

The consular fee for 1 to 3 months single entry is $33.45 and the cost for 1 to 3 months multiple entry is $39.01.

Visas are released by the Ministry of the Interior in Antananarivo for those who desire to stay for more than 3 months. US citizens can directly file the application at the country’s Embassy in Washington.
