Good health care in Mauritius is provided across different places in the country. Medical facilities in the country have been improved from time to time, enhancing efficiency and modern advancements in the medical field to provide utmost service among the Mauritians. Physicians were trained and competent in having their patients achieve total medical care.

Public medical facilities have emerged and are numerous and of a high standard. Patients can afford consultations and treatments with several inexpensive private clinics. Several risks in Mauritius such as typhoid, hepatitis B, and meningococcal meningitis are risks from December to June. Precautions should be followed to prevent such diseases. Typhoid is one common disease in the country and various vaccines are available to avoid such illness. One should be vigilant in choosing and eating food to be able to enjoy a longer stay in the country.

Numerous health centers are available in the country, providing the patients clinics and hospitals suitable to their illnesses. Furthermore, there is no reciprocal health agreement in the UK; therefore, foreign visitors have to pay at state-run clinics or hospitals. Foreigners upon arrival at the airport, one may be asked to have a blood sample in order to examine if one has a malarial contamination.

Medical advice should be acquired in preparation to go to the country. Appropriate vaccines and prepared medications shall provide safety in health outbreaks and protection from diseases.
