The airport system of Mexico is considered to be the most sophisticated in Latin America. Mexico is the world’s 3rd most numbered airports country with a total of 1,834. Except for the Mexico City International Airport, all other major airports are privately owned such as the Cancun International Airport, Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport in Guadalajara, General Mariano Escobedo International Airport in Monterrey and General Juan N. Alvarez International Airport in Acapulco. There are at least 72 domestic airlines operating in Mexico. Major industry players include the Aeromexico and Mexicana.

Majority of railroad systems in Mexico are used for transporting products. Some railways for passenger transportation include: Adames- Peñuelas in Aguascalientes; Tijuana-Tecate in Baja California; Suburban Train in Mexico City; and Pachuca-Tepa-San Agustin Irolo in Hidalgo.

In 2006, there are about 236 television and 1,410 radio broadcasting stations in Mexico. Major television networks are Televisa, TV Azteca, Telemax, MASTV, and Telemundo Mexico. There are also other specialty channels operating in Mexico such as the Spanish Channels, Spanish Pay-Per-View Channels, Aboriginal Channels and Multicultural Channels.

The telecommunications industry is generally dominated by Telmex. Landline telephone, mobile telephony and Internet service are all provided by this Mexican company. Mobile users are estimated at 57 million, while landline phone subscribers at 20 million. Other Internet providers in Mexico include Alestra, Maxcom, Megacable Internet, E-Go, Ultranet2Go, and SupernetMX. The costs ADSL in Mexico are the following: 1 Mbit/s - US$37; 2 Mbit/s – US$63; and 4 Mbit/s - US$109.
