Panama provides local services designed to benefit the majority if not all of its population of more than three million. On top of these services are electricity, water and medical and health care services.

Electricity services have a complete network, covering the entire country to make life easier for Panamanians. Governed by an electricity law, the electricity system is regulated by the Public Service Regulatory Entity, which also regulates water and sanitation, and telecommunication services, except the independent system of the Panama Canal.

The water supply and sanitation services provide absolutely potable water described as one of the purest in the world as its can be drunk directly from the faucet by users, 97% of whom receive continuous service. The law that governs water supply and sanitation exempts the municipality of Bosquete which has its own water supply and sanitation system.

Medical and health care services are provided by the government through its medical care and modern hospitals and clinics in urban centers, especially Panama City and David City in Chiriqui Province. These services also include the provision for private health insurance and low-priced prescription drugs which are available over the counter in licensed pharmaceutical outlets.

For tourism, tourists are served by various tour and travel operators authorized by the government, with tour packages, guides and information materials on travel destinations. The Offshore Legal Service also helps in facilitating tourist visa applications, and in planning vacations in the country.

Immigration services help promote foreign investments in the country by facilitating programs for Immediate Passport, Self-Economic Solvency, Reforestation Investment, Small Business Investor, and Tax Free Processing Zone Investor programs.
