The economic structure of Saudi Arabia was completely transformed in the 70's when the price of oil went up drastically. Until then the economy of the country was based on agriculture.

Saudi Arabia has approximately 25% of the world's reserve of oil.

Its natural gas reserve is the fourth largest in the world.

All this has made Saudi Arabia a rich and powerful country.

Five million foreigners work in Saudi Arabia. They come from countries such as the Philippines, Yemen, Egypt, India and Pakistan.
