Interesting locations in Sweden


Sweden is surrounded by Norway (west), Finland (northeast), the Skagerrak, Kattegat and Oresund straits (southwest) and the Baltic Sea (east). It has maritime borders with Denmark, Germany, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, and is linked to Denmark (southwest) by the Öresund Bridge.

The capital, Stockholm, is located on Sweden's east coast, where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. Apart from being an educational center, the city is also the site of national cultural institutions such as two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Royal Palace Drottningholm and the Forest Cemetery Skogskyrkogården.

Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden and largest university city in Scandinavia with more than 60,000 students. It is situated on the west coast of Sweden at the mouth of the river Göta Älv. It is also one of the most popular tourist destinations in Scandinavia.
