Journalism
Suffolk University’s Communication and Journalism department gives students access to a specialized video production classroom and editing lab, state-of-the-art computer labs and a television studio. Students will be taught to use industry-standard lighting equipment, sound equipment and digital cameras, along with non-linear editing software. Majors will also have chances to participate in one of Suffolk’s co-curricular activities. Majors are urged to practice their skills by writing for Suffolk’s award-winning student newspaper and online publications, The Suffolk Journal and The Suffolk Voice. They will also be encouraged to join the student video-club, RamCam Productions and will have the opportunity to get in front of the camera, reporting for the “Suffolk in the City” features on New England Cable News.
