Over the first two years (General Courses I & II) the student acquires extensive photographic culture based on solid theoretical/practical principals of the foundations of the photographic medium.
In this way, one of the basic aims of the formative approach of GrisArt, during the initial phase of its programme, is to provide its students with a solid mastery of technical aspects such as the possibilities of photography as a means of communication, expression and of creativity. So, the technical subjects in the General Courses (shooting, darkroom techniques, lighting, digital imaging etc.) are combined with those of a more conceptual nature (theory, aesthetics, history, criticism etc.) providing the student with the knowledge and criteria essential for the creation and interpretation of photographic works. These tools will allow the student to define what will become his/her own personal style. These subjects are structured as monographic modules and are taught by different specialists.
