| No e-mail available | | Description | | The Arab Open University branch in the Kingdom of Bahrain started its operation in August 2002. It was granted the approval after a series of discussions between the AOU’s Headquarters and the officials at the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
As soon as the University was established, it started recruiting its administrative staff and academic faculty through advertising at the local and regional newspapers. After building up the staff/faculty of the AOU, Professor Samir Qasim Fakhro, the branch director, declared to the newspapers that AOU Bahrain Branch will launch its first academic term on 22nd of February 2003.
