The modern world is a fast-changing world - with regard to the environment, society, the economy and technology - and the rate of change continues to accelerate. To meet the challenges of this world, the Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences has developed a programme of modern undergraduate and master's courses, and a range of training and continuing education programmes with a focus on technology and knowledge transfer between the university and the business world. At the same time the Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences is a source of stimulus for the regional economy and an incentive for intelligent young people to pursue a course of study in a country that is highly attractive in both economic and cultural terms. In addition, professionals can take advantage of a range of part-time study options, and businesses are offered innovative and problem-solving partnerships. "The great aim of education is not knowledge but action," wrote the English philosopher Herbert Spencer. The practical relevance of teaching and research is central to our mission, and the link between theory and practice is basic to the undergraduate courses and all the other educational programmes available at the Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences.

Unsere Welt ist im Umbruch. Veränderungen in Umwelt, Gesellschaft, Wirtschaft und Technik vollziehen sich in immer schneller werdendem Rhythmus. Diesem Tempo und den damit verbundenen Anforderungen stellt sich die Hochschule Liechtenstein mit ihren Bachelor- und Master-Studiengängen, ihrem vielfältigen Aus- und Weiterbildungsangebot, in der angewandten Forschung und Entwicklung (aF&E) und im Bereich Technologie- und Wissenstransfer (TWT) zwischen Hochschule und Unternehmen. Damit gibt die Hochschule Liechtenstein entscheidende Impulse für die Region. Sie bildet Anreiz für kluge, junge Menschen, ein Hochschulstudium in einem wirtschaftlich und kulturell anregenden Land zu absolvieren. Für Fachkräfte besteht die Möglichkeit, sich berufsbegleitend weiterzubilden. Unternehmen finden an der Hochschule Partner für Innovationsprozesse und Problemlösungen. Das vordringliche Ziel der Bildung ist nicht Wissen, sondern Handeln, schrieb der englische Philosoph Herbert Spencer. Dieser Praxisbezug von Lehre und Forschung ist im Rahmen unseres Leistungsauftrages von zentraler Bedeutung. Die Vernetzung von Studium und Praxis sind sowohl für das Hochschulstudium als auch für alle weiteren Bildungsangebote ein besonderes Merkmal der Hochschule Liechtenstein.
