The Institute of Management Development was established in 1997 in the city of Larissa, the capital of central Greece, under the title North European Studies.
In the past nine years, it has developed into a versatile, modern business school,
integrating academic rigor with a practical approach to real-life business solutions.
IMD is an authorised center of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the leading British authority in Management Qualifications. In this capacity, IMD has developed close training relationships with a number of large corporations, active in fields such as Road Construction Project Management (EGNATIA ODOS), Electricity (PPC / DEI), Telecommunications (OTE) and Food Processing, as well as with Local Authority Institutions.
It is in recognition to the quality of education offered by IMD, that in 2003 the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece decided to invite us to establish its own training centre, the Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship of Southeastern Europe (IMESE), based in Thessaloniki - Greece. Today, IMESE operates as a local CMI centre, and is jointly with IMD expanding its operations in the Balkans offering post-graduate executive programs, leading to the MBA of the Liverpool Hope University.
In the Republic of Macedonia, IMD operates directly through its local branch in Ohrid and offers undergraduate and post-graduate programs to local and international students as well as company in-house training. Teaching takes place in Skopje and the facilities of the Bitola University - Faculty of Tourism and Travel in Ohrid. The delivery of courses is undertaken by a team of selected local university professors in combination with very experienced lecturers from Greece.
