The essence of the university lies in the act of investigating universalities, in the presence of students being educated at colleges and universities for the higher level university studies.
The university constitutes a community within another community. The autonomy of the university is not aimed at any economic, political or social independence that may misplace it in the eyes of the community it serves and to which it belongs. The coat of arms of our university reads Trinus et unus: Vita, spiritus et Societas. It expresses the importance assigned to the vital physical balance, the spiritual wellbeing and the integral nature of society – all of which make up a unique whole: the human issues.
It is not the community which should serve the university, rather the university which should serve the community. The university is a community-serving institution par excellence.

El escudo de nuestra universidad reza: Trinus et unus: Vita, Spiritus et Societas. El conforma la promoción del equilibrio físico vital, el bienestar del sentido espiritual y la integralidad societaria configuradora de un único todo: humano.
No es la comunidad la que debe servir a la universidad, sino, por el contrario, ésta a aquélla.
