Since our founding, we have diversified our pursuits and extended the reach of our programmes. With judicious planning and careful execution, we have grown from a fledging University College into a giant of an institution of excellence and choice in Africa and the world. We have produced over 14,000 highly trained graduates in the fields of Agriculture, Business, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Our products are found in all socio-economic and political sectors in and outside Ghana.
We are a community of scholars operating in unity and diversity. We are an equal opportunity institution uniquely placed to provide quality education through the provision of comprehensive, liberal and professional programmes that challenge students to be creative, innovative and morally responsible citizens. Through distance learning, we also extend expertise and facilities to train professionals for the education enterprise and business by employing modern technologies. We constantly seek alternative ways to respond to changing needs. We continue to expand our existing highly qualified faculty and administrative staff, offering a conducive environment that motivate them to position the University to respond effectively to the development needs of a changing world. This is our mission. Our vision is to be a University that is strongly positioned, with a world wide acclaim.
We are guided by a student-centered philosophy of education. We focus on serving the needs of students, nurturing and challenging them to grow socially, physically, morally and intellectually. Our major goal is to prepare productive citizens and future leaders who can serve the national and global community in diverse ways.
Our modern library facilities and ICT infrastructure, halls of residence, private hostel facilities, social institutions and relations on campus, vibrant social events within the Cape Coast Municipality in which we are strategically located, as well as the stable political environment in Ghana provide dynamic supportive climate for enhanced teaching, learning, research, and consultancy work.
