Description
University of Tartu (Estonia) is inviting NAFSA participants to visit our booth at NAFSA (#1518)and have a look at semester and summer study abroad packages offered at our university, or respond to this e-mail to schedule a personal meeting and/or request more information. Semester study abroad programs: - Baltic Studies (studies of the Baltic Sea Region history, politics, society, economy, etc.) - Transition Studies (transition experiences and current developments in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia) - Law (insights in creation of rule of law society in post-communist Europe, European traditions of human rights, transitions carried out in Estonia) Semester packages include tuition, housing, orientation, on-going support services and other features. International Summer University modules: - European Integration and Russian Foreign Policy (international position of the Baltic States,European integration and the challenge of enlargement) - International Business (what makes CEE countries so different, how to do business in Estonia and in the Baltics, European dimension) - Procedures in European International Courts (Hodorkovsky trial, procedures in the European Court of Human Rights and European Court of Justice) - Building Information Society and E-Government (theoretical and legal issues for e-Government, e-Democracy, e-Government in action) Summer three-week packages include tuition, housing, cultural program. Optional study trip to Russia. University of Tartu is one of the largest and oldest multidisciplinary universities in this part of Europe (founded in 1632). We host about 600 international students during the year and 120 in the summer. Besides academic studies, cultural program and study trips are offered around Estonia, to other Baltic states and Russia. City of Tartu (100,000 people, 2.5 hours from the capital city of Tallinn) is a university town that feels like one big campus, with 20% of population being students of various schools and universities. Estonia is part of the EU, with visa-free entry for citizens of the USA and some other countries.
