Welcome to the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, a private educational institution widely recognized for its quality academic programs, renowned faculty and nationally respected Cooperative Education program, as well as its magnificent 307.9-acre campus.
A Tradition of Excellence
The campus was founded by Long Island University in 1954 to accommodate the educational needs of World War II veterans living in Nassau County. The C.W. Post Campus, which is rich in history, is located on Long Island's famed Gold Coast, on the former Brookville estate of cereal heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post. The campus was named for Mrs. Post's father, the founder of the Post Cereal Company (now a division of Kraft Foods, Inc.). In building his cereal empire, Charles William Post embodied ingenuity, determination and courage - qualities that are living inspirations for the University's faculty and students.
