| No e-mail available | | Description | | The Catholic University of San Antonio, born of the heart of the Church, initiates its third academic year (1999-2000) - a historic and unprecedented moment for humanity and particularly for the Catholic Church, in coinciding with the beginning of the third millennium. We are confident that this will be providential for our University and for society.
It was in accordance with the words of Pope John Paul II in the Apostolic Constitution “Ex Corde Eccelesiae” of 15th August 1990, in his reminder to Bishops of their responsibility in the promotion of Catholic Universities, and in awareness of the importance of Christian faith in the academic and cultural world of today, in the face of the third millennium, that The University Foundation of San Antonio established the initiative to create and support this Catholic University in Murcia.
| | Alternate language description | | La Universidad Católica San Antonio (UCAM) pretende como objetivo fundamental garantizar de una forma institucional la presencia de cristianos con vocación docente y evangelizadora en el mundo universitario, científico y cultural de nuestro tiempo, con el deseo de proporcionar un instrumento válido que dé respuesta desde la Fe a los grandes problemas e interrogantes de la sociedad contemporánea, de profundo arraigo cristiano y contribuyendo con ello al desarrollo y progreso cultural, social y humano de la misma.
También pretende colaborar con la Iglesia, depositaria de la Verdad revelada por Jesucristo, en su misión evangelizadora mediante el anuncio de la Buena Nueva, conduciendo al hombre hacia la auténtica libertad.
El Ideario de la Universidad Católica está presidido por la fidelidad y adhesión a los principios del Evangelio y a las enseñanzas del Magisterio de la Iglesia, manteniendo un compromiso de fidelidad y lealtad a su Santidad el Papa, especialmente en materia de Fé y de Moral; todo ello en estrecha comunión con el Obispo de la Diócesis donde desarrolla su actividad y en el contexto del noble esfuerzo humano por investigar, descubrir la Verdad y difundir formas de vida y actitudes de servicio mediante la transmisión de conocimientos y saberes.
