Our professionally designed curriculums focus on all four lanugage skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing while also including multimedia such as films and music. | | Alternate language description | | Our month long immersion program offers all the highlights of quality Spanish language immersion: small classes with a max of five students, a creative multimedia curriculum, and thematic elective courses. Tours of Mendoza, wine tasting at some of the worlds most prestigious vineyards, and a Cabalgata are also included. ICLA also organizes outings for live music, theater, museums and exploring the city’s night life.
Our Cultural Immersion Program is a study abroad experience, wrapped into one month. Spanish language classes are 20 hours per week, for all language levels. Included in the program are three electives, for an additional ten hours a week of immersion.
ICLA Electives
Latin American Cinema: With a broad historical and cultural range, this course approaches film analysis from both historical and aesthetic perspectives. Two films per week and discussion allow this survey course to explore Spanish language films from the United States to Patagonia. Four hours per week.
Argentine Authors: Students will read and discuss short stories and poetry from the emblematic Argentine authors Cortazar and Borges, and be introduced to contemporary Argentine work. Three hours per week.
Tango, Folclórico and Rock Nacional: The national music of Argentina is a source of pride and contention, with lyrics spanning the history of a nation. Regional sounds from the north, classic and infused modern Tango, and rock nacional expose students to a wide range of Argentine music. Three hours per week.
