Acadia University is an institution of higher education, based in the town of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Established in 1838 by the Baptist Community, the university offers mainly undergraduate degrees, although it has also made available a few master’s programs and one doctoral level degree. Arcadia University exists with the mission to offer personalized and challenging education, promoting diversity, lifelong learning and critical thinking. Acadia consists of four faculties: Arts, Pure & Applied Science, Professional Studies and Theology. These are organized into departments and schools specialized in areas of teaching and research. The Division of Research & Graduate Studies is separate from the faculties and takes care of graduate students as well as Acadia's research programs.
