Atlantic International University describes itself as a non-traditional university, providing distance education to adult learners. The curriculum provided is flexible and highly individual for each student, while the concept of ‘self instruction’ is very much stressed.

The university offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees through its schools of Business and Economics, Science and Engineering, and the School of Social and Human Studies. Attendance at classes is not required. The schools has not gained any accreditation, as it perceives its programs to be unique ones, which do not fit with the traditional accreditation requirements.
