Capital Normal University was established in 1954 as Beijing Teacher's College. It is covered by Project 211, a policy to renew and modernize educational facilities in the People's Republic of China. The University receives over 25,000 students, including 9,522 undergraduates, 1,315 graduate students, 14,000 adult students, and 376 foreign students. Undergraduates can choose from 41 different majors. The school is organized into 17 colleges and department, including the College of Literature, the College of Political Science & Law, the College of Foreign Languages, the College of Music, the College of Fine Arts, the College of Education Science, the Adult Education Center, and the College of International Education.
