The College Consortium for International Studies is a partnership of colleges and universities who sponsor a variety of programs, mostly study abroad programs and professional development seminars for faculty and administrators, which are designed to encourage and improve intercultural understanding within the academic community. Overall, the organization has 128 members, making available 95 study abroad programs in 30 countries. All programs are approved by the CCIS Academic Programs Committee and are developed and sponsored by member institutions. On the other hand, Professional Development Seminars acquaint faculty and administrators with important themes and aspects within a given country or region, in order to promote international/intercultural understanding.
