East Carolina University came into existence in 1907 as a public research university at Greenville, North Carolina, United States. ECU offers more than 200 programs, catering bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and certificate students. ECU comprises of 9 undergraduate academic units, a graduate school and 4 professional schools. ECU academic centres sit on a 1600 acre entailing: Main campus, Health science campus, West research facility, Field station for coastal studies and Studio art campus in Italy. The university is famous for its programs in education, nursing, business and medicine. The U.S News & World Report certified ECU as a first-tier National University. ECU is endorsed by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, all teacher education programs are granted by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
