EMCC started its operations in 1966 at Bangor, Maine, United States, as a local community college. The EMCC campus comprises of a gymnasium, residence halls, dining facility, technical resource centre, library and a child care centre which serves the purpose of an instructional lab for children. EMCC also has three campuses in East Millinocket, Dover Focroft and Ellsworth. EMCC offers more than 30 one & two year educational programs specializing in technical, career and transfer education. There are also short term and specialized training and retraining programs related to business, industry and community, apart from the regular one and two year programs offered at . EMCC is endorsed by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
