Vancouver Island University is an educational institution in USA, which history dates back to 1936. It is a dynamic, internationally known center of learning and applied research, aiming to contribute to the local society and economy with its innovativeness. VIU consists of four campuses - a main campus in Nanaimo and regional campuses in Duncan, Powell River and Parksville Qualicum. Currently the institution educates 18,000 full-and part-time learners, including 1100 international students, over 1000 aboriginal students. The range of programs and learning opportunities provided to students is very wide – from basic literacy, to vocational programs, trades, undergraduate and graduate degrees. VIU strives to provide a stimulating, intellectually challenging environment for its students and staff.
