Oregon State University is a public learning institution and was founded in 1868 and is situated in Corvallis. There are over 200 academic programs for undergraduate students and over 100 graduate programs including those in fields such as education, engineering, and business. There are also over 30 online degrees that students can choose from and these are offered via the Oregon State Ecampus. The university’s specialty is in the studies of forestry, marine sciences, and sustainable food systems among others. Besides classwork, students can engage in a number of extracurricular activities such as athletics, clubs, sororities and fraternities.
